Why do I do these things?

So, I decided to paint my bathroom today. Yeah, that's right. Today. The day that I need to do laundry so I can have underwear and my kids can have pants tomorrow. The day that my house is a mess. The day that I need to do some pre-emptive cooking for tomorrow.

Why? What was I thinking?

So, if you're up around midnight and bored, give me a call. I'll be up.

Doing laundry.

And cooking.

And cleaning.

And painting.

What I've done so far.

And the creamy whipped topping to my insanity? This blue is waaaaay brighter than I expected it to be. It's not bad in the pictures. In person it's very, very blue.

  1. I do that TOO! It's when I have a million other things to do, that I take on bigger projects. "Got a paper to finish?"--"let's re-sod the backyard" (true story)

The best one was when I had to bake 100 cupcakes, but built a sandbox in the backyard instead...

..and then bought all the cupcakes at Costco.

PS. Very, very blue is very, very underappreciated these days.

  2. Don't feel too bad. You're in good company. President Hinckley was notorious for starting giant projects at the last minute. Like the time he decided to remodel the house (including ADDING ON) not too long before they were supposed to host one of their daughters' weddings. If I remember correctly from reading his biography, it came right down to the night before and Sister Hinckley was NOT amused.

Then if you're me, you buy everything you need for a project and then it sits around your house for months because your husband is never ever home to help and you still have a nursing baby to deal with, so the large paint splotches (samples) in the playroom become everyone's idea of your interior decorating style.

  3. P.S. Those paint splotches in the playroom? 3 shades of very very blue.

  4. Um, I had to clean (a lot) this week. In my procrastination, I wrote 104 Christmas cards instead. I did end up cleaning today a little but right before I did the last task of dusting, I decided to reorganize all my books. So, I still have to dust and change the sheets on the bed. Give me a little more time and I'll organize my photo albums. I wonder what I'll do when procrastinating this weekend when I plan to switch my closets officially over to winter.

  5. But it's so much more fun to paint than to do laundry and dishes and vacuuming...the list goes on and on! Let's face it, sometimes when the mood hits, you have to follow through. It's not our problem if there is a ton of other stuff to do...or is it??!?!? Hmmmmmm, I'll get back to you on that!

  6. I guess I am not the only one with ADD. I can never finish a job around the house
