A Very Douglass Christmas

You know what's awesome about having a blog? I don't have to write some silly Christmas letter! Want to know what we've been doing? Well, just head on over there -----> to my archives.

If I were to send out a letter, it would have our annual in-front-of-the-tree picture. So, for your viewing pleasure, here's a parade of Douglass Christmases past (and present) Better known as, "what does Brandi weigh and how bad is her hair?"

1997, married 6 months

1998, we added a cat

1999, we added a kid

Our 2000 picture is lost somewhere in cyberspace. So, here's Will in 1982 instead.

2001, Germany

2002, Germany

2003, Germany (are you detecting a pattern here?)
By the way, I was knocked up in this picture but didn't know it yet. So it's technically Liam's first Christmas picture.

2004--Will was in Germany. Ben, Liam and I were at my parents'. Liam was only 3 months old and recovering from surgery. So, this was the best I could manage.

2005, we'd added TWO kids
Geez Louise, I look like the poster child for postpartum depression.

2006 is also missing. I can't remember even taking one, but we must have. Instead, enjoy me in 1977.

(Edited in 2009 to add the 2006 picture, since I finally found it)

2007, Will was deployed and we spent Christmas with my family. I guess I didn't take one in front of the tree that year either.

  1. I love to see your hair! Isn't that fun? Okay, it's probably not that fun for you, but it's thrilling for your readers, promise.

  2. Oh shush. You look FABULOSO! My favorite is the 1977 pic. :) Maybe I don't like the fact that we can delete such terrific shots like these on our digital cameras!

  3. I love the picture you took this year. You all look great. I'm the one who sent out silly Christmas letters that are redundant if you read my blog. Luckily most of my extended family doesn't read my blog. No Christmases in Maryland huh?

  4. I think you look great! I love the 1977 picture-it's awesome! I didn't realize that Liam and Amelia were born so close together.

Marc and Machelle blessed their baby at home on Friday. That's why we didn't see anyone at church. We left on Saturday to come back to Maryland. We plan to visit again so we'll have to see everyone on another trip.

  5. Sarah--2005, 2006 (if I ever find it),and 2007 were taken in Maryland.

Jamie--Because Amelia was so early, she and Liam ended up being 12 months and 2 weeks apart.

  9. Brandi, You are so funny! I laughed when I read that it was a nice memory of how much you weighed and how your hair looked. I too always worry about what "I" look like in every picture. I am always so critical. When in actual honesty I think people really look at the kids. They could probably care less about boring mom. What fun pictures to share! I love browsing your blog from time to time. I am not even sure you remember who I am? We were in the same ward for a while at Fort Meade.

  10. You actually spent 2005 at my house too. Don't you remember the Code Adam at Wal-mart when Aiden ran away from us at the picture studio?
I tried so hard to get you to smile for that 1977 picture but you chose to ham it up. I love that picture.

  12. FYI, I was the poster child for PPD in 2006 and 2008, so we have something in common...
