Better Homes and Gardens: Swimsuit Edition

So, back when I posted my very first before picture, a few of you clamored that I wasn't wearing a swimsuit. Trust me, I was doing you a favor.

And while I'm still not thrilled with how I look in one, I at least don't feel like a freak during the walk from the locker room to the pool.

So, for those of you who were pushing for a swimsuit picture, here you go. (It's the same before pic you've seen a million times, I just happened to be facing the wrong way for the picture this morning, so I flipped the original before shot).

57 days post op, 49 pounds lost.

In other non-swimsuit related news, I finally got my garden done. It's just a small raised bed with a few things we eat a lot of. Hopefully It'll all grow nicely and not be diseased. Two years ago I had seven tomato plants. I had bushels and bushels of tomatoes, not a single one edible. They had some weird, black rot. However we also had a watermelon vine that took over the yard and it produced some of the yummiest sugar baby melons I'd ever tasted. So, who knows?

Clockwise from front left: Cucumbers (4), Corn (6), Scallions, Sweet Basil, Cherry tomatoes (2), Roma tomatoes, Green bell pepper, Cilantro, Strawberries (2).

Mmmmm...Strawberries...

  1. Brandi, you look great.

I so much want to have a garden. I am just too lazy to maintain it. Over the years, we have had gardens and gardens and gardens. Nothing grows. Well, not really. We end up with runty peppers, super skinny and runty carrots, onions that never get big and round (partly because I use them while they're still young), tomatoes that never turn red. We get lots of lettuce, but end up wasting it because it is so plentiful and we get sick of eating it. I didn't do one last year, and missed having one. I guess that means I'll do another one this year. And it'll suck. Again.

  2. Not that I'm checking you out in a weird way or anything, but in case you haven't noticed for yourself, your boobs look bigger now that the rest of you looks smaller :)

  4. You look fantastic. Look at your skinny legs!

Good luck with the garden! I have a brown thumb plus the plants I have bought all came with bugs and, well, I'm not a bug person. There was screaming and running around so no more plants for me. Maybe when I have a yard, but it's doubtful. I may allow Laura to have the seed in a cup during Sunday School or something.

  5. brandi, you have to add lime to the soil, or they will have blossom end rot, meaning the lover half of the tomato will be rotten. you should add it at planting or soon after.

  6. YOU look fantastic!!! Thank you for posting that picture of the 5 kids. I am having an awful day at work today and when I saw that picture it made me smile and get warm fuzzies. I wish that I could just snuggle all 5 of them. Ruby says "There's Aunt Brandi's house in the sky when she sees that picture. She reasons that because she had to fly to get there that you must live in the sky.

  9. well, you do look good, but with all that hype, i was expecting a bikini, not a dress...

  10. Why would you think that, Sylwia? Has hell frozen over and I just missed the report? I can guarantee you you will never see me in a bikini, no matter how much I lose. Oh, and the guy at Lowe's said that since I was using good quality bagged soil I didn't need to add lime. He said I'd only need it if I planted in the existing soil.

    Chrysta--Don't ask, don't tell. :)

  11. come on brandi, when we do our limo fling, we all have to wear a bikini top and take a picture, it would be disastrous!

  12. Sorry, Brandi. I just thought it might make you feel better until you get your C cups :) (I'm mad that my clicking did you no good, btw. Go sign up at BlogHer so I can click some more. Someone around here needs some C cups, and if it can't be me, you sure as heck deserve them...)
